Fishermen at Nussensee near Bad Ischl complain that around 600 kilograms of explosives are said to have been dumped in the lake, causing trout to perish.

At Nussensee, a small body of water near Bad Ischl, fishermen have been drawing attention for days to an unusual discovery. They report a total of around 600 kilograms of explosives that, according to their account, were placed in the lake. The fishermen from FC Nussendorf, who have used the lake for decades, speak of a massive intrusion into a sensitive ecosystem.

The situation weighs all the more heavily given that the fishermen at Nussensee used to regularly make trophy catches. As a retrospective reveals, they once landed a 14-kilogram pike from the water – such times, according to the account, are long gone. Today the anglers see their livelihood and the ecological balance of the lake under threat.
