Fürth Stays in Second Division After Relegation Win Over Rot-Weiss Essen

A Disallowed Goal and VAR Frustration

The Essen coach was less diplomatic about the VAR intervention that ruled out Mizuta's goal. 'I have always said the VAR has no place in football,' Koschinat stated. 'Many find it fairer, and in this case it is of course, because even if it's only a few centimeters, it is offside.'

On the other side, Fürth's young goalkeeper Silas Prüfrock delivered a standout performance. The 21-year-old showed strong reflexes and was a crucial support for his team, growing beyond himself on a high-pressure evening.

Koschinat offered a balanced assessment of the outcome. 'I think no one can say it was a deserved stay in the second division,' he said. 'But Fürth played a very good second half of the season, they demanded everything from us and had a bit more luck and were there in the decisive moments.'
