The Fulda Regional Court on Monday sentenced a 50-year-old tradesman from Thuringia to life in prison for the murder of a couple in Wildeck-Richelsdorf and established the particular severity of his guilt.

The conviction was handed down on Monday by the Fulda Regional Court. The court found, based on the chamber's conviction, that the defendant had killed the couple at the end of June 2025 in their home in Wildeck-Richelsdorf in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district with numerous knife stabs. The victims were a 67-year-old man and his 62-year-old wife. The defendant had previously worked for the couple as a tradesman.

As the judges explained in the reasoning for the verdict, the convicted man had killed the 67-year-old man and his 62-year-old wife with numerous knife stabs. According to an expert report, he stabbed the man eight times and then stabbed the woman twelve times. The defendant admitted to killing both people.
