The Greens sharply criticized the draft of the federal budget and demanded that the wealthy be drawn on more heavily for consolidation and climate protection, as party leader Leonore Gewessler made clear on Friday in Vienna.
The Greens see a central gap in the current budget draft of the federal government: a tangible contribution from the super-rich to finance climate protection and the budget. Party leader Leonore Gewessler formulated her party's demand unequivocally on Friday: "Wir Grüne pochen darauf, dass die Superreichen einen Beitrag leisten," she said according to a press release. Without such a contribution, the budget lacks the necessary balance between burdening the broad population and burdening the richest.
