A field hare collided with a landed aircraft at Dresden Airport on Sunday evening, significantly disrupting flight operations.

An airport spokesperson said on request that the animal had collided with a landed aircraft. The runway subsequently had to be closed.

Three planes were initially unable to land due to the closed runway and entered holding patterns. While two aircraft later landed safely, the Swiss scheduled flight from Zurich was diverted to Leipzig/Halle, according to the airport's flight schedule data.
