According to a survey by the Munich-based Ifo Institute, 54.4 percent of companies in Germany currently use AI software – a significant increase compared to the previous year, when the figure was just under 41 percent.
Compared to the previous year, the spread of Artificial Intelligence in the German economy has noticeably accelerated. While the proportion of companies using AI was just under 41 percent a year ago, it is now 54.4 percent. This is according to a survey by the Munich-based Ifo Institute, which was published on Friday. According to the survey, companies of all sizes use AI software – albeit with significant differences.
Differences by Company Size
There is a clear disparity based on company size: while 67.2 percent of large companies in Germany use AI, the figure is 47 percent for medium-sized firms and 51.2 percent for small companies. This means that AI has spread further within all three size classes in just one year. Usage is particularly pronounced in industry: 58.7 percent of industrial companies use AI software.
