The Munich-based Ifo Institute has found in a survey of nearly 3,000 companies that roughly one in five AI-using companies in Germany could replace university graduates with less qualified but AI-supported employees. Just under one-fifth (19.2 percent) of the firms surveyed in May consider it easy or even very easy to put AI-supported employees without corresponding qualifications in place of workers with a vocational or university degree.

More than half of AI-using companies (55.4 percent), however, rate such a substitution as difficult or even impossible.
