In Austria, prices for the Klimaticket and the digital vignette will rise by two percent starting next year, as Transport Minister Peter Hanke (SPÖ) announced on Wednesday following the Council of Ministers in Vienna.
Initial Situation
The increase affects both the KlimaTicket and the digital vignette, which is required for the use of Austrian highways and expressways. According to the ministry, the tariffs are rising at least partially significantly below the current inflation rate, which is why Hanke explicitly described the move as a "price brake" at a press conference. Concrete end-customer tariffs were initially not published in detail.
