On Thursday, the nose landing gear of a Lufthansa Boeing 787-9 collapsed on a parking position at Terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport, resulting in several employees being injured according to the airline, and the affected flight LH 450 to Los Angeles being canceled.

The incident occurred on Thursday around 12:45 PM on a parking position at Terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport. As a Lufthansa spokesperson explained in the afternoon, the aircraft's nose landing gear unexpectedly retracted: "On a parking position, the aircraft's nose landing gear unexpectedly retracted." At the time of the incident, crew and ground staff were on board, and passengers had not yet boarded: "At the time of the incident, crew and ground staff were on board.
