Following several mudslides in Tyrolean Sölden, the municipality's wastewater treatment plant is out of service, while emergency crews, municipal employees, and local excavator operators continue cleanup work along the Ötztaler Ache.

The heavy rainfall of recent days triggered several mudslides in Tyrolean Sölden, causing significant damage to the municipality's infrastructure. The Sölden wastewater treatment plant has been particularly affected and had to be taken completely out of service after the mass movements. The torrent and river control structures as well as several private properties along the Ötztaler Ache were also impacted.

Mayor Ernst Schöpf informed the population about the extent of the damage and the ongoing measures. The municipality of Sölden is coordinating the securing and clearance operations together with the rescue organizations and the torrent and river control authority. According to Schöpf, local excavator operators have been working continuously since the night to remove mud and debris from endangered areas.
