Several mudslides on Wednesday evening following severe thunderstorms buried roads in the Tyrolean Zillertal and temporarily trapped one person.
Severe thunderstorms triggered multiple mudslides in the Tyrolean Zillertal on Wednesday evening. According to police, another slide occurred at around 6:45 p.m. in Brandberg near Zillergrund 60, extending inward toward Häusling, blocking the road.
Earlier, mud and rock masses had come down on roads and paths at several locations in the Zillertal. The affected sections were located, among other places, in the municipalities of Brandberg, Tux, and Ginzling, as emergency services reported.
