According to data from the British Home Office, the number of migrants who reached Great Britain via the English Channel in the first half of 2026 fell by 41 percent compared to the same period last year, to around 11,900 people.

For comparison: "im Vorjahr waren es noch 19.982" people who had reached the United Kingdom via this route between January and June. The influx had repeatedly been the subject of political disputes between London and Paris in recent years.
