The Berlin-Brandenburg Retail Association and the Verdi trade union have agreed on higher wages for employees in Berlin and Brandenburg following a strike in the retail sector.

The agreement means higher incomes for retail employees. The Verdi trade union had previously put pressure on companies in the region to secure higher wages and better working conditions.

Nils Busch-Petersen said on behalf of the Berlin-Brandenburg Retail Association that companies now have the necessary planning certainty for the next two years. He was referring to the financial burdens that retail businesses say they are bearing.
