Kyiv, 03 July 2026
In a massive Russian airstrike on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, at least 30 people were killed and more than 90 injured, according to authorities.
After the heavy attack overnight into Thursday, the death toll in Kyiv rose to 30 in the evening, according to authorities. More than 90 residents of the capital were injured, as the Ukrainian Air Force and the city administration reported. 130 buildings were damaged or destroyed, it was said.
Scale of the attack
Russia had attacked the capital with nearly 500 drones as well as dozens of missiles and cruise missiles, according to the Ukrainian military. This makes it one of the largest attack waves of the war on civilian targets in Kyiv.
Among the dead in Kyiv were an old man, two women, and a small child, a spokesman said. The child was "a girl who was not even two years old." The reports about the victims could not initially be independently verified.
