In a traffic accident at the intersection of Erzbergerstraße/An der Krimm in Mainz-Mombach, eleven people were injured on Sunday evening around 7:30 p.m., two of them seriously.
According to the fire department, three cars crashed into each other at around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Erzbergerstraße/An der Krimm near the Mombach swimming pool. The three involved cars were completely demolished; the fire department spoke of a "large-scale field of debris." According to the Mainz police, there were eleven injured, including three children.
In the collision, a van tipped onto its side, trapping a person underneath. According to the fire department, several first responders were able to free that person before the fire department and police arrived on scene. The first responders had also immediately provided first aid and cared for the injured.
