The US space company SpaceX has postponed this week's planned launch of its Starship mega-rocket to the overnight hours into Friday, after several engines failed to ignite during the previous attempt.

Background: Why the launch was postponed

As the company announced on its website, the new launch window opens at 00:45 CEST. The next attempt had originally been announced for earlier this week. It is the mega-rocket's 13th launch overall and the second test flight this year.

During the previous attempt, the launch was automatically aborted. "Weil mehrere Triebwerke da aber nicht gezündet wurden, wurde der Start automatisch abgebrochen", it was said from the company's surroundings. "Danach wurde der Treibstoff wieder abgepumpt." The company did not disclose what specific measures SpaceX has taken since then.
