US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized the two largest US oil companies, ExxonMobil and Chevron, accusing them of raking in excessive profits while consumers pay high fuel prices.

Trump had attacked the two companies over the weekend in sharp terms, accusing them of inappropriately high profits. The president alleged that ExxonMobil and Chevron were pocketing excessive margins during a period of high prices at the pump. The attack comes at a time when gasoline prices at US filling stations have risen noticeably.
