Two wolves in the Mühlviertel near Peilstein and Ottenschlag approached farms in broad daylight, coming within 30 meters, prompting Upper Austria's wolf commissioner, Philipp Engleder-Öhler, to announce close monitoring of the situation.

According to the wolf monitoring program of the State of Upper Austria, the incidents occurred in recent days in the Mühlviertel. Initially, two wolves approached farms in the region during the day. Shortly afterward, a single wolf came within approximately 30 meters of a farm in Peilstein late in the morning.

What happened at the farms?

Speaking to orf.at, Upper Austria's wolf commissioner, Philipp Engleder-Öhler, explained how the situation should be assessed. "Die Wölfe könnten auf Futtersuche gewesen sein", sagte Engleder-Öhler. He announced that the situation would continue to be closely monitored.
