A 28-year-old German citizen was fatally injured on Saturday morning while paragliding in Neustift in the Stubai Valley (district of Innsbruck-Land).

The woman had taken off on Saturday morning from the Elfer (2,499 meters) in the Stubai Valley for a flight with her paraglider. According to the police, a crash occurred that proved fatal for the 28-year-old.

The accident occurred in a region that is popular among paragliders. The Elfer is a well-known launch mountain for paragliders in the Tyrolean Stubai Valley. The exact circumstances of the crash were the subject of investigations.

Second paragliding accident within a day

Already on Friday, a 24-year-old German paraglider had an accident in the district of Schwaz. After this crash into the Achensee, two occupants of a boat who had observed the crash recovered the victim and brought him to shore.
