Paraglider crashes into Tyrolean Lake Achensee: Man from Rhein-Sieg-Kreis airlifted to hospital by helicopter

According to authorities, the injured pilot is from the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis. He received initial medical care on the shore immediately: "von der Besatzung eines Notarzthubschraubers am Ufer erstversorgt". He was then transported onward by helicopter to the hospital in Innsbruck, "in die Innsbrucker Klinik geflogen". The emergency services initially provided no further details regarding the severity of the injuries or the man's condition.

Lake Achensee is one of the best-known flying areas in the Alps and is used year-round by pilots from Austria and abroad.
