Typhoon "Dujuan" has caused two deaths and several landslides in Japan, while the ground in the Tokyo region remains saturated according to NHK, and the danger of further slope failures persists.

Over the past days, Typhoon "Dujuan" swept across the greater Tokyo area, leaving two people dead according to authorities. The prefectures of Kanagawa, Chiba, and Ibaraki, located to the west and east of the capital, were particularly affected. Following the heavy rainfall of the previous week, the situation on the slopes has further intensified, Japanese broadcaster NHK reported.

In several districts, landslides blocked roads and damaged houses. Emergency services cordoned off endangered areas on a large scale, and hundreds of households were urged to temporarily leave their homes. Public transport was temporarily restricted, with some commuter rail lines taken out of service.
